A loan helped a member to buy baby chickens and feed.

Muong Phang 61 Group's story

The Thai ethnic minority woman standing on the right in the photo is Hanh. She was born and raised in the northwest agricultural region of Vietnam. She is married and lives in a narrow stilt house with her parents-in-law, husband, and four children.

Like other local people, Hanh and her husband rely on farming activities such as growing rice and raising chicken. The income from agriculture is unstable and they often have to deal with diseases. However, she always tries to do as many activities as possible to make sure her family is always taken care of.

Wishing to expand her chicken farming model to earn more income, she decided to borrow a fifth loan from the Anh Chi Em program to invest in buying baby chickens and feed.

Hanh hopes that, with two years of experience in raising chickens, she will be a success. She plans to use her profit to pay tuition fees for her children and also as capital for business expansion.
