Mrs. Oeurn Khin Village Bank Group's story

Twenty-two people, who live in Prey Chheu Teal village in TaK. province, make up a village bank loan. Mrs. Oeurn K., who was born in 1971, is a village bank president, selected by the other members. Each member of the group will use their portion of the loan for varied ways. Mrs. Oeurn K. is a farmer who owns a four-hectare plot of land where she grows rice to sell in order to support her family. In addition, she is also a pig breeder. She has some problems because her field has infertile soil. So to improve production, Mrs. Oeurn K. is applying for a loan to buy fertilizer. With the rest of the loan, she will buy pig food. Her husband, Mr. Ran Proum, is a village chief. She is a mother of four children, one of whom is a seamstress in a garment factory, while the other two are enrolled in local school. The youngest one is three years old.
