A loan helped secure equipment to grow and expand our business and provide jobs.

Tomira's story

The story of Delicious Bites spans more than 11 years. I grew up in a restaurant until the passing of my grandmother at age 12. My grandmother mirrored her love for community and food regularly. I learned at an early age that food brings people together. My husband and I bond over food and food experiences. When our son Drew turned 3 we didn't have much money, but we had a recently gifted Kitchen Aid mixer from my grandmother. I used the recipe on the back of the poundcake box to make cupcakes for Drew's birthday party. Although the cupcakes weren't visually stimulating they were Delicious. From this moment Drew would ask for Delicious (cupcakes). This is the moment Delicious Bites began. In June of 2018, we made Delicious Bites an official business.

Since June of 2018, we have catered for many local businesses and organizations, participated in a number of farmers' markets, contracted for community meals via the City of Milwaukee.

Our passion for food and community fuel Delicious Bites. In addition, to the fact that we are able to work together as a family. Our fresh baked goods and quality meals will provide our customers with more time for building within their families and community.

Contributing to our loan will assist us in purchasing equipment for our upcoming retail location. Our location will provide a pickup location for our fresh baked goods, salads, and wraps. In addition, will be able to create employment opportunities as we continue to grow.

This loan is special because:

It supports a Black female entrepreneur in expanding their business.
