A loan helped to buy more pepper and rice to sell.

Hannah's story

Hannah, from Liberia, is 39 years old. She lives with her husband and four children who live at home while schooling. She is a high school graduate.

She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells rice and pepper. She started to sell with some earnings from her husband and her mother taught her how to sell. She carries supplies to her business site by car or kehkeh. She sells Monday through Saturday for 12 hours each day. Hannah likes her business because it gives her more profits.

To continue her business, she applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. With this loan she will buy more pepper and rice to sell to repay her loan installment.

Her dreams for the future are to build houses and send her children to college. She is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
