Cerila's story

Cerila is 43 years old. She lives with her husband and four children in their own house. She has been working in agriculture for the past twenty years. She has the assistance of her children and husband in her business. Never the less, there are times when her husband has to go to work in the mines. At this time she has to work extra hard planting potatoes, corn, barley and lima beans. When these items are harvested she brings them to the wholesale market to sell. In this way she is able to make money to support her family. She likes to work in agriculture because it allows her to have a good amount of food in her small grocery market. Even though the work is very intense and difficult, she is always optimistic. In the future she would like to improve her harvests and acquire more animals. This is her third loan with MFP. She is very happy to know that she has financial support. She has always been responsible with her payments. Also she is thankful to be part of the communal group because the members are responsible and supportive. She is thankful for those people that will be managing the loan that she is requesting. They have been very useful by helping her improve her business. With the loan money that she is requesting, she will buy sacks of fertilizer and potato seed in order to continue growing crops.
