Sonya's story

Sonya is a resident of Kasur which is a small city in Pakistan. It is located in Punjab province and is famous for its leather industry.

Sonya is 28 years old and is a seamstress. She supports her family by sewing clothes for her neighborhood clients. She is married to M. F. and is the mother of three daughters and a son. Currently she is not able to send her children to school but she’s hopeful that, with increased income, she will be able to provide education facilities for her children very soon.

Sonya’s husband has a milk-selling business. He operates his business from his home and has been doing this for the last six years. Sonya has applied for a loan from Asasah for her husband’s business. With the loan amount he will buy another buffalo to expand his milk-selling business. Sonya is hopeful that her husband will utilize the loan money in a proper way and will be able to get positive results from his business.

Sonya is one of Asasah’s regular loan users and is on her 2nd loan. With her previous loan she proved that she is very responsible, always paying her installments on time and never missing any meeting.
