A loan of $1,525 helped a member to buy fringe.

1 De Marzo Group's story

The Cascada Focal Center is one of the 12 focal centers in the city of El Alto. The “1 de Marzo” communal bank has joined it. This group has 8 members and is starting its 2nd cycle led by group president, Lucy.

Lucy tells us that this is her 2nd cycle in our institution. Her business is macramé. Her initial loan was for Bs.500 and she used it to buy fringes for the blankets. She is currently requesting Bs.300 for the same purpose.

This work allows her to care for her home because she does it there and the sales are a sure thing because she only works based on prior orders from her customers. With respect to Pro Mujer services, she states that she likes the Health Center and the training because of the personal attention.

Other “1 de Marzo” communal bank members have their own businesses. Among them are: sweater knitting, blanket weaving, blanket and cap weaving, slipper sales, handicrafts, Alpaca woolens, blanket braiding, blanket sales.

In this group: Lucy Virginia, Florencia, Grabiela, Cristina, Flora , Aida, Verónica, Alicia
