A loan of $1,200 helped purchase wire and grass seed.

Vilma's story

Vilma H. T. is a 24-year-old who lives with her husband in a community called Santa Fe, located in Los Chiles, in the Alajuela province. This community is known for being a mountainous area that is very close to the northern border of this country. Its main economic activities are stockbreeding and agriculture, particularly staple grains, sugar cane, and oranges.

Vilma is a dairy farmer, selling all types of products that are derived from milk. Her products are high-quality, and her business has always yielded great profits, but she needs to expand. For this reason, Ms. Vilma is requesting a ¢604.000 CRC loan so that she can purchase wire for her fence, and grass seed in order to reactivate production and to provide everything that her cows need in order give their best milk.

She is a member of the Crédito Comunal Manantial de Santa Fe company, one of the 100 organizations that have a partnership with EDESA in Costa Rica. This will be her first loan, and she is very happy because she is sure that this loan will allow her to keep doing what she likes while at the same time earning a living.
