A loan of $1,200 helped for building materials and supplies.

Oscar's story

Oscar S. P. is a 37-year-old man who lives with his wife and three children in a community called Santa Fe located in Los Chiles, Alajuela province. This community stands out for being a mountainous area very close to our country’s northern border. Its main economic activities are cattle-raising and farming, specifically basic grains, sugar cane and oranges.

For the last 5 years Oscar has had his own bicycle sales and repair shop. He assures us that this business is much needed in the community because many people use this particular mode of transportation.

For lack of money, however, he hasn’t been able to enlarge his shop and this is why he’s asking for a 604,000 colones loan to buy the needed materials and supplies to improve his shop’s conditions and to enlarge it because demand requires it.

Oscar is a member of Manantial de Santa Fe (Santa Fe Spring) communal bank, one of EDESA’s 100 partner organizations in Costa Rica.

This will be his 1st loan and he hopes his business will continue to grow with it.
