A loan helped to purchase carbonated beverages, juices, and water.

Carmen Maria's story

Carmen Maria is a micro-businesswoman 21 years of age who lives in the city of Cartagena with her family. For one year she has had a business selling beverages. After starting her business with only a small amount of capital, she began by selling products to family members and reinvesting all of her earnings. Now she has coolers and display cases and she offers a great variety of products.

She has benefited from the location of her business, and every day she gains new customers. Her business began out of the necessity to generate income for herself and her family. This commercial activity is her only source of income and it is her business which enables her to contribute to the sustenance of her household.

However, due to the global covid-19 pandemic her business went downhill because of health safety concerns and her income fell drastically. That's why she has applied for her first Kiva loan through the Fundacion Santo Domingo with the aim of buying carbonated beverages, juices, and water. Support her with a loan for her business.
