Tiessiri 3 Group's story

Tiessiri 3 is made up of eight married women. On average they are 49 years old and have four children. The majority of them live in polygamous families in Madoudiarrabougou, a village in the prefecture of Dioila, in the region of Koulikoro, the second administrative region of Mali.
They collaborate with the microfinance organization, Soro Yiriwaso with the goal of better organizing their winter agricultural activities.
The crops cultivated are peanuts, sesame, earth peas, and green beans.
They are on their third farming loan and both of their other previous loans were properly repaid.
With this new loan, Afou D. will buy seeds and small tools, and pay the laborer costs of maintaining approximately 1.3 hectares of peanuts. She sells her products after the harvest at the city level in Diolila to a client base essentially composed of commodity dealers.
The women of the Tiessiri 3 group expect an average profit of 45.000 FCFA after paying back the farming loan.
