Sourng's story

Sourng S., 36, is married and resides with her husband and three children in Takeo Province, Cambodia, an area known for Pre-Angkorean Temples. She is employed at a local garment factory for an income of USD 2 per day. Her husband is a motor-taxi driver, earning an income of USD 3 per day. S. is requesting a loan of USD 1200 to purchase a tuk tuk (auto rickshaw) to expand her husband’s business. In the future, she would like to use any additional profit to repair her house.
