Rashida's story

Rashida is the resident of a small city called Riawind. It is located in the Punjab province of Pakistan and famous for its religious festivals. Rashida is Christian and lives in the area of Ghouspura with her family. She is 50 years old and has spent more than 30 years of her life in this city. Rashida and her family are living in a four room brick house. She has two daughters and two sons. Only her youngest daughter, Saira, is getting an education currently while the others have finished by completing 10th standard. Saira reads in 9th standard.

Rashida’s elder children are doing different kind of jobs to support the family financially. Her eldest son drives an auto rickshaw (three-wheeled motor vehicle). Her second son works in a factory for a small income and her elder daughter is a school teacher.

Her husband is also a rickshaw driver. He works for fulltime to meet the financial needs of the family and to put three meals on the table. Rashida is a very caring lady. She stays at home, manages the household chores and takes care of her family. She has applied for a loan from Asasah for her husband who wants to repair his rickshaw.

Her husband is very confident that he can be work better with a repaired rickshaw and earn a very good income because he will be able to work for longer hours.
