To earn a good living for her family, Harm B. started a job selling cakes from her home. Normally, she goes to the market where she buys essential ingredients, mixes them together, and fries them in oil to sell to her nearby neighbors.
Harm B. is a single mother who has given birth to three children, all three of whom are employed at different occupations. Harm B. dreams of having a place to distill wine for additional revenue, but her dreams have not come true because of lack of funds. To achieve her goal, Harm B. has requested a loan in order to build a wine-distilling set-up.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
