A loan helped to buy 20 sheep and to sell their dairy products. She will also sell the lambs in order to make an extra income for her family.

Afife's story

Afife is a 63-year-old rural woman. She lives in a small village located in southern Albania. She is married and has four children, three of them with different disabilities, for which she has to take care of.

She and her husband have agricultural and livestock activities to provide for their family. They have four cows, from which they sell the dairy products and four calves per year. They also have 25 dynym [1000 square meters or 1/10 of a hectare] of family land in which they plant different products for selling.

Afife is asking for the first time for Kiva lenders' support as she wants to buy 20 sheep, as she has enough land from which she can secure their food, in order to sell the dairy products and the lambs for each year to make an extra income for her big family. Afife thanks all Kiva lenders for their support and wishes good health to you and your families.
