A loan helped to buy a sewing machine and additional equipment for her business.

Riketa's story

Riketa is a 63-year-old woman who is divorced and has a 29-year-old son. They live in a city in southeastern Albania. Riketa receives a retirement pension and was also a caregiver for two young children, which enabled her to earn some extra income for her family. Her son works in construction on a seasonal basis. After some time, she felt that she was no longer capable of looking after the children since they would need someone with much more energy.

In order to continue earning extra income, Riketa rented a small shop in a corner of the city. She wants to buy a sewing machine and some additional equipment so that she can offer sewing services, which is a skill that she engaged in when she was younger. Riketa is making a second request to the Kiva lenders for their support. With her first loan, she managed to make a few repairs to her home.

Riketa thanks all of the Kiva lenders for their support and wishes good health to them and their families.
