A loan helped to buy a calf to fatten and then sell.

Martine's story

Martine is a 29-year-old woman. She is married and has four children. She lives in a rural village with her family.

Martine and her spouse earn their living in farming and livestock production. They own some plots of arable land and a small space to have a farm. The family would like to progress and to have better living conditions.

With the support of her spouse, Martine joined Vahatra to take a first loan to raise pigs. She purchased a productive plot of land with her profits. She has also been able to more easily afford fundamental needs like food, clothing, and more.

She is determined to take out another loan to buy a calf to fatten. She is going to sell the livestock after six months to a butcher. She awaits the support of the lenders. Martine aspires to buy a cow.
