A loan helped to buy some piglets and their food.

Ravaoarimalala's story

Ravaoarimalala, is 66 and a widow. She lives alone in a rural village. She dedicates herself to farming and animal husbandry. Despite her age she is still active. She works hard to remain independent and sticks to her goal. She has been borrowing with Vahatra for a year. The partnership enables her to have capital for her activities. She also benefits from the health insurance provided by Vahatra. Since the partnership, she has been able to put aside some savings as her profits have increased. She used her first loan to cultivate rice. Besides her savings, she has also been able to buy some chickens with her profits. She is requesting this loan to buy some piglets and their food. She is hoping for support from the lenders. She will resell the animals after they have been fattened and then will buy others. She plans to buy some fertile land with her profits.
