A loan helped to buy the necessary inputs to cultivate potatoes.

Angéline's story

Angéline is 42 years old and has six children who are all independent. She lives in a rural village with her husband. The couple works in agriculture and animal farming. Angéline also sells wood.

Angéline takes loans from Vahatra and has been able to progressively develop her activities. She wants to increase her income in order to enable her to carry out big projects like building her own house. Since extending her business activities, she has put some money into savings.

Angéline needs this loan to cultivate potatoes. She is going to extend her cultivated area and needs seeds, fertiliser and phytosanitary products. She is also going to employ people to help her with physical labour and other tasks. She sells her produce to aggregators.

She hopes for the lenders' support and that the profits will be enough to add to her savings.
