A loan helped to invest in hinges, Madeflex fiberboard, wood in bulk, and more.

Argemiro De Jesus's story

Argemiro De Jesus is a 46-year-old microentrepreneur and resident of the municipality of Soledad who lives with his spouse.

He has been offering his furniture-making and carpentry services for 15 years, where he offers services making doors, closets, kitchen furniture, baby cradles, and everything related to wood. His customers are neighbors, people referred to him, and passersby.

His business is located at his house, on a corner of the neighborhood of Los Almendras. Most of the time, his sibling helps him, who also does this work. He opens the business from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday, and until noon on Saturdays. This business is his only source of income and it has allowed him to contribute to the sustenance of his household.

But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which appeared globally, his work level dropped due to biosafety reasons and his income diminished drastically.

Currently, he is applying for his first Kiva loan from Fundación Santo Domingo with the goal of investing in the purchase of hinges, Madeflex fiberboard, wood in bulk, and more. Support him in his business loan.
