A loan helped to buy the farm inputs needed to grow potatoes.

Françine's story

Françine is a 36-year-old woman. She lives in a common-law marriage and has five children. She lives in the countryside with her family.

She got used to working in the fields and on a farm at a young age, so she is comfortable working in farming and livestock farming — her family's primary revenue sources.

She is a borrower with Vahatra and needs financial support to expand her activities and educate her children. The previous loan helped her buy school supplies and pay for school registration fees. She completed her repayments and is now very determined to take out another loan. She will use it to grow potatoes. She needs seeds, fertilizer, and phytosanitary products.

Francine delivers her products to the aggregators. She hopes to earn enough income. She was able to put a little money into savings and hopes to increase that progressively. The family plans to construct a permanent home.
