A loan helped to buy a pig and 360 kg of feed.

Noéline's story

Noéline is 59 years old. She is married but has no children. The couple lives in a lively neighborhood on the outskirts of town. Noéline has been raising pigs for about ten years. This is the couple's only business. Their income covers their needs such as food, clothing and other necessities of daily life. Despite her age, Noéline is still goal-oriented. She plans to refurbish their house and to buy a parcel. To reach her goal, she decided to increase the number of pigs she raises. Her income will increase and she will be able to fulfill her project. She needs capital to expand her business and joined Vahatra to take out loans. She obtained a first loan to boost her capital. She purchased a parcel of land with her profits. This subsequent loan is needed to buy a pig to be added to her stock and 360 kg of feed to provide for it. She sells her products to a intermediary. Her profits will increase her savings that will go to refurbishing her house.
