A loan helped to purchase more soap, water, red oil, rice, and other items to sell.

Elizabeth's story

Meet 51 years old Elizabeth from Liberia. She is a single with 3 children. All of her children stay in school while living at home.

She deals in a business which sells soap, water, red oil, rice, and other items. She has been in this business for the past 7 years now and works 15 hours per day and 6 days a week and has had no problem with her business.

Elizabeth requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more soap, water, red oil, rice, and other items to sell and grow her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family, and to educate her children.

In the future she would like to build a shop.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
