The Mujeres Virtuosas women committee was founded on April 9 2010 thanks to Myrian.

All group members are actively involved in weekly meetings, are very grateful Fundacion Paraguaya for their support, and wish to continue to work together as they have had good results so far.

One of the members is Myriam, a very active woman who works hard for her family. She sells fruits and vegetables from door to door. Her customers already know her and see her as their supplier of fruits and vegetables, so she has a good customer base. Every day she goes to market to buy the goods she later sells. She says that it's hard work but she will continue to work until she gets enough capital to open a market stall where to sell from.

She would like to take this opportunity to request a loan to buy fruits and vegetables (papaya, bananas, pineapples, oranges, onions, tomatoes, etc.).

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
