A loan helped to finish building the balcony of her house because the house she is living in is very small.

Nusha's story

Nusha is a sworn virgin from North Albania. Balkan sworn virgins are women who take a vow of chastity and wear male clothing in order to live as men in the patriarchal Northern Albanian society.

Nusha has taken her vow to be able to support her parents and her disabled sister, since they have no one else who can take care of them. To provide for her family, Nusha practices different agricultural activities. She also has two cows from which she sells dairy products and two calves per year. She also receives a small pension from being her sister's caretaker.

Nusha lives with her elderly mother and her disabled sister in a one-room house, which she built herself with the materials she was able to buy after a Kiva loan.

Currently, she once more needs Kiva lenders' support in order to finish building the balcony of her house so she can use it, since the house she is living in is very small. This balcony will give her some more space.

Nusha thanks all Kiva lenders for their continuous support and wishes all the best to you and your families.

This loan is special because:
