Monsieur Essotina T., age 25, works from his home selling school supplies and clothing. He has been in this business for the last five years. In order to prepare for the upcoming school year, Monsieur T. is planning to purchase five boxes of various school supplies - notebooks, pens, school books, and other items - that university students and secondary school students will buy as they prepare to go back to school for the year. To this end, Essotina has requested a loan of 400,000 CFA to help him purchase school supplies. This is his first time requesting a loan from Kiva's field partner WAGES.
