A loan helped a member purchase quinoa, sugar, and cornstarch in bulk.

Lirios De Rosas Pampa Group's story

The Communal Association “Lirios de Rosas Pampa” is a new group that is starting its first loan cycle. It is part of the Villa Exaltación Community Center and Sra. Paulina currently serves as its president.

This Communal Association has eight members, seven women and one man. They have different businesses in the manufacturing, service, and retail sectors such as quilt sales, jewelry sales, quinoa juice sales, designing and sewing garments, and helping manage a dining hall and workshop.

Doña Paulina is treated the same as her fellow group members. She hopes to improve her business and quality of life with the loan she will receive. Her business involves selling “quinoa juice”, a popular food that is enjoyed by people living in the Andes because it is consumed as a hot breakfast. This dish consists of boiled quinoa, apples, and cornstarch. Doña Paulina says she learned about this type of business six years ago.

In this group: Paulina, Juana Teodora, Natividad, Filomena, Julia, Fernando Alvaro, Patricia, Leslie Arlet
