A loan helped to buy more bags of charcoal to sell.

Jebbeh's story

This is 44-year-old Jebbeh. She is divorced and has six children. She never had the opportunity to attend school. She runs a business where she sells charcoal by the bag.

Jebbeh asked for a loan with BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. She is seeking the loan to buy more bags of charcoal to sell and increase her business to meet her customers' demands. Her love for her business continues to grow every day. She enjoys interacting with her customers because it enables her to grow her customer base. Through her profits, she will be able to pay back the loan and improve her family’s standard of living.

Like any loving parent, Jebbeh’s dream is to continue sending her children to school, and to build a house. She gives thanks for lender support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
