A loan helped to buy mid-sized pigs and their feed as well as seeds, fertilizer, and manure for a crop of potatoes.

Justine's story

Justine is a women of 56 years. She is married and the mother of eight children, seven of which are already independent. Their family lives in a stone house found in a village on the outskirts of the city. Justine and her husband work in agriculture and with livestock in order to earn a living, working especially in pig farming and growing potatoes.

Justine hopes to develop her activities in order to increase her family's income. To this end she has partnered with Vahatra in order to contract advantageous loans. With her last loan, she was able to grow several seasonal crops.

With this loan, Justine hopes to increase the number of pigs she owns. She also wants to expand her cultivatable fields. Justine asks for the support of Kiva lenders in this endeavor. With their help she will purchase mid-sized pigs as well as their feed, as well as seeds, fertilizer, and manure for a crop of potatoes.

Justine plans to sell her harvest and livestock at the local market. Her goal is to purchase a dairy cow with her profits.
