A loan helped to buy cereals (lentils, cowpeas, rice and corn) to sell in her village market, and as a mom, use the profits to support her children.

Niller's story

As the world gears towards the last phase of 2021, Juhudi Kilimo is not left behind and is presenting Niller, a 48-year-old mom, to the wonderful Kiva lenders around the world. Niller has always supported her children, just like any caring mother would do. Her aim is to aid them in their studies so that they can change their present and build a prosperous future. Despite personal challenges and her passion for supporting her family as the primary caregiver, Niller is also a role model, a mentor and an inspiration to many mother farmers in her village due to her resilience. She always wears a smile on her face.

For the past few years, Niller has been involved in mixed farming. Her primary sources of income have been growing maize and crops and keeping dairy cows. She has been able to provide nutritious food for her family.

Niller is requesting a loan to buy cereals (lentils, cowpeas, rice and maize) to sell at the market in her village. Her remote village has a ready market for cereals but lacks a sufficient supply of them. With this loan, she will be able to sell cereals and meet the local demand. Kindly and humbly lend to this mom this last phase of 2021!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
