A loan of $725 helped to buy more merchandise like mobile phones.

Filber's story

Filber, 25, lives in Cusco with his partner and their daughter, Melodi, 4. At the age of 21, Filber learned how to distribute mobile phones in Lima and then returned to Cusco where he is applying his knowledge. Filber has a store in the “El Paraíso” shopping center where he sells and repairs mobile phones. He can be found tending his store seven days a week from 9am until 9pm. Filber expects to get 2000 new soles in his next loan that he’d like to use to buy more merchandise like mobile phones. His dream is to open a personal computer, clothing and brand name slippers store. The “Señor de Ccoyllority Cachimayo” (Lord of Ccoyllority Cachimayo) communal bank has been in operation for three and a half years; Filber has been a member for several years and does well. The members of this communal bank are devoted to Taytacha Ccoyllority (Lord of the Shining Snow) and this is why they named their communal bank thus.
