Luis's story

Luis wasborn in the Yucay district, Urabamba province, in Cusco department, Perú. He is 76 years old. Luis lives in Cusco city and his wife lives in Yucay. They married many years ago and the fruit of this marriage was 4 children who are all independent. Cesar and his wife gave the best of everything to them to allow them to improve themselves and today feel very proud of their children because the majority are professionals.

Luis and his wife have a small grocery store in Yucay city where they sell food and grocery items to their neighbours and friends. Cesar also has a tailor's shop where he makes suits. You can find him in his shop, located in Cusco city in the Wanchaq district, 7 days a week from 8am until 7pm.

With this loan Cesar hopes to receive 1,000 nuevos soles which he would like to use to purchase stock such as rice, sugar, pasta and other things to stock his grocery store.

The communal bank "Cusi Ccoyllor de Chinchero" is 2 years old and is functioning. Luis has belonged to the bank for 2 years and is doing very well. The name of this bank is a Quechua term (the indigenous language) meaning "Beautiful Princess of Chinchero".
