A loan helped to buy dairy cows in order to increase milk sales to a local factory.

Sharipa's story

Sharipa is 47 years old, married and has 3 children. She has high school education. For a basic income, Sharipa has raised crops and livestock since 1994. Thanks to her persistence and hard work, Sharipa's farm has 5 cows, 125 sheep, 4 horses and a 3.5 hectare plot of farmland used to grow beans.

She has an agreement to supply organic milk to a local factory for further processing into milk products. This agreement allows her to consistently invest into her own farming business.

Having found that Bai Tushum Bank will supply her with credit under a contract guarantee of future supply as a member of the Value Added Chain, Sharipa has applied for a loan of 200,000 som (KGS). She intends to buy diary cows to increase milk production.

Payments for the milk by the factory will go directly into her bank account, and loan payments will be automatically withdrawn. Income made from the credit will help her to further develop her farm.

This loan is special because:

It supports organic farming and includes a lower interest rate.
