Santo Domingo Group's story

The Santo Domingo community bank begins it’s 38th cycle with 13 members that belong to the Huancavelica department. Saturnina is one of the members, has a partner and six children, her oldest is 23 years old and her youngest is 12, they are all studying. Saturnina owns and works at a ceviche (seafood dish) shop that is located in the local market. She started this business with little capital but has slowly grown it with the loans that she gets she buys the necessary ingredients but also invests it in utensils such as plates and cutlery. Her business is growing and Saturnina wants to save to expand the shop and buy furniture as well as to incorporate other fish based dishes.
