A loan helped to pay for her child's school fees so he can get a good education and earn a high paying job in the future.

Tudsie's story

Tudsie is a 51-year-old mother of two; her eldest has completed school while her youngest of 16 years is still in college. She has been a single mother for several years now. She lives with her children in a friends house. Tudsie lives with her children in a rural district which is located 5 kilometres out of Port Vila, city of Vanuatu. Her community is small, and the main industry is agriculture and food. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been quite alright for one to earn a little income.

Tudsie has asked for a loan to help her pay for her child's school fees so he can get a good education to earn a well paid job in the future. Her business particularly deals with two types of flowers: flamingos (anthuriums) and orchids. Most of her customers are from organizations and churches. With her earned revenue, she will save up so she can pay for a piece of land for her family to start building their own home.

Tudsie has been in her business since 2014. This is her second loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has successfully repaid her previous loan on time. Through her loans, Tudsie feels qualified to expand her business and become a successful businesswoman.
