A loan of $700 helped seed and supplies for farming business.

Sabino's story

Sr. Sabino N. F. is married and has 3 children who are 10, 7 and 5 years old. He lives in a rural area of the Bolivian province of Chapare Cochabamba.

Sr. Sabino is a farmer. He grows potatoes, beans, oca and other crops that are common here. He sells his crop at a market in nearby Colomi and the income from the sales is how he supports his family. He also has 3 head of cattle that he uses on the farm. His wife, Sra. Sayda Galarza, is his only helper.

Sr. Sabino approached the bank to apply for a loan that he will use to buy seeds and agrochemicals for the farm. He wants to make the most of the season because seed prices are relatively low. He has some land that has been prepared for planting so he'll be able to grow more crops and improve his income in the coming year.
