Myrna's story

Myrna M. is from the village of Northern Pob. Calamba, Misamis Occidental. She is 46 years old. Myrna is married and has 1 school-aged child. To make a living, Myrna owns & operates a general store. The main source of income for the business comes from selling daily use products such as shampoo, soap & toothpaste, powdered soap, rice, canned goods, and coffee, in the local community. Myrna has been engaged in her business for over 4 years and earns approximately 10,000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2009, Myrna joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Myrna is requesting a loan of 15,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products to sell. This will be the first loan taken out by Myrna from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement the family's income.
