A loan of $375 helped to purchase fertilizers and insecticides for the rice plantation.

José Carlos's story

Jose Carlos is a family man, 46 years old, and he lives together with his wife and their two children in the Las Adelinas district. This region is primarily agricultural land located about one hour from the city of Chiclayo.

He has worked as an agriculturist for more than 10 years. He owns a piece of farm land where he sows rice given the large quantities of water available for irrigation in the region. He sows seeds twice per year, different from other regions where they can only sow once a year. This cereal is a staple food in the country so it is an important part of the Peruvian diet.

Joan Carlos depends on this occupation to cover the family expenses. He always tries to do his best with his plantations. He is currently in need of some materials such as fertilizers and pesticides. These materials will help him meet his goals. For this reason he has approached Edpyme Alternativa (Kiva Field Partner) for a loan in the amount of 1000 nuevos soles.

Jose Carlos is a very hard working person and he is devoted to his family. In the region where they live he is well known for being an honest, trustworthy person. Previously he has worked with this organization and he has always been responsible with his obligations.
