A loan of $900 helped purchase compost.

Wilfredo's story

Wilfredo is 34 years old and a modest hardworking gentleman. He lives at his parents’ house with his wife Maday, age 25, and their only child Jhon who is 3 years old. Wilfredo wants to provide them with a better quality of life. From a young age he learned how to work on a farm. His parents taught him everything he needed to know about achieving a good crop. Now he has his own land that he cultivates and cares for with much love and patience. Wilfredo grows coffee and bananas, products that are eventually sold at the market in the city of La Merced. He has been farming for 10 years and says he enjoys the harvesting season, but he must constantly take care of his fields to protect them from plagues of insects that can impact his production. His greatest wish is to buy a vehicle so that he can transport his goods to market.

This is his third loan with MFP. Wilfredo knows that he must always submit his payments on time and he is happy to comply. He is one of the more cheerful members of his Communal Bank and always adds a sense of humor to his group. The loan of 2500 PEN that he requested will used to buy more compost so that he can improve the quality of his crops.
