Ayacucho, Peru / General Store

A loan of $375 helped to buy goods for her shop.

Edith's story

Edith, who is 26 years old, lives with her partner and two children, Renzo, 8, and Madeleine, 2. They live together in their own house in the beautiful Ayacucho woods, in Santa Rosa. Edith is hardworking and enterprising. At an early age, she started working in her relatives' plantation, cultivating cocoa and coffee, but she wanted to expand her horizons. Now she has her own business, a shop, and she has many clients who frequent her establishment, thanks to her hospitality and the good prices she offers. She mainly buys her products herself, but sometimes her partner helps her, and she sells to people in her own neighborhood, every day of the week, from 5.30 in the morning to 9 at night. Her plan for the future is to expand her shop so that she can sell more and thus raise her income level.

This is her fifth loan with MFP, and she promises to meet her payment schedule. She is happy with the community bank, since everyone is responsible about making their respective payments. With the money she is requesting, she wants to invest in buying stock for her shop so she can take care of her clients without any problems.
