Together As One Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a Kiva partner in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you the members of the “Together As One” group. They are small-scale-business women in Makeni city and are requesting a loan of SLL 1,000,000 each. With the help of this loan, these entrepreneurs will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and earn better profits.

Kadiatu K. (left) is the leader of this group. She was born in Kenema, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. She is twenty-nine years of age and is married with three children who are attending primary school.

Kadiatu has had eight years of experience in selling drinks, rice, palm-oil, fish, pepper and gari (fast food made from cassava). With the help of her SLL 1,000,000 loan, she will expand her business by buying more of the above-mentioned goods in large quantity to add to her stock.
