A loan of $550 helped to buy more stock for her store.

Nancy Margarita's story

24-year old Nancy lives with her husband and two children in the neighbourhood of Sagrado Corazón in the district of Tambogrande. It is an agricultural area known for its fruit which is processed there and then exported overseas. The town is located in Piura province, in the region of Piura, some three hours from the city of Chiclayo, the capital of the region of Lambayeque.

Nancy sells basic necessities and groceries from a store in her home. The business is popular with her neighbours as they can buy items they need on a daily basis close by. As well, Nancy helps her husband with family expenses. She always makes an effort to have quality products to sell and to treat her customers well.

Nancy wants to expand her stock so that she can sell more products and earn more money. For this reason she approached Kiva partner Edpyme Alternativa to ask for a first-time loan of 1500 soles.

She is a calm and hardworking woman whose greatest wish is to carry on working so that she can provide her family with a better standard of living. In the community where she lives she is well-known and respected by her neighbours.
