Manko Group's story

The solidarity group MANKO came into being six months ago. It is made up of 11 women who all come from the same neighborhood. They also all belong to the same "Banc Villageois" SANTHIABA COKI2.

Mrs. Aïssatou D., on the right in the photo, wearing sunglasses, is the group leader. She is 56, married and the mother of one child. She is also raising two other children who were confided to her care by relatives.

She sells sheets, curtains, peanuts (groundnuts) and bracelets for children. Her loan will allow her to bolster her stock so that she can make more profit. Her goal is to help her husband with the expenses of supporting their family and at the same time, put aside more savings.

In this group: Aïssatou, Awa, Khar, Aminata, Diatou, Aminata, Bator, Fatou, Khar, Aïssa, Seynabou, Khary, Ndeye, Faty, Joanna
