A loan of $550 helped to buy fertilizer for his crops.

Carlos's story

Carlos, 47, is a sincere and happy father. He lives with his wife Eugenia, also 47, and their two beloved children, to whom he wants to give a better quality of life. When he was a boy, Carlos' parents taught him everything he needed to know about farming. Over time he took charge of more and more of his parents' land. Now he has a large area under cultivation, where he grows cofee and bananas to sell in the market in the city of La Merced. What he likes most about his work is cultivating the land where he grows food for his family. It has taken him 12 years to get to where he is today. What he considers most difficult is protecting his crops from the insect pests that reduce his harvest. One day he would like to buy himself a car so that he can transport his produce. this is the third loan Carlos has had from MFP. He has always been very punctual with his repayments and hopes to remain so. He is trusted as a member of his communal bank. With the 1500 soles he is requesting, he will buy fertilizer for his crops.
