A loan helped to purchase the ACE One hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting, and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner, and saves money.

Pokolene's story

Pokolene is a 29-year-old man who lives with one other family member in a multi-bedroom house without access to electricity. Pokolene works as a driver but struggles with buying multiple fuels. He spends the majority of his energy expenditures on gas and paraffin, which cost up to LSL 720 per month. He also spends as much as one hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging. Pokolene bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help him and his family save the money spent every month on fuel and to also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass- and solar-powered. For more information on the ACE1 cookstove, please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
