A loan helped a member to stock up on 5 bundles of second-hand clothes, which will increase her starting capital.

Utiifu Njema Group's story

Madame Ciza is a customer of the microfinance institution Hekima and heads the village group Utiifu Njema. She is married, 42 years old, and the mother of 5 children, all of whom go to school. Her partner is a shopkeeper.

She sells second-hand clothing. She began this business 7 years ago with the startup funds received from her husband. Later, she became involved in the program Hekima to maintain her business, during which time she gradually progressed. With this new loan, she will stock up on 5 bundles of second-hand clothing, which will increase her starting capital. The challenge of this work is related to a lack of clientele.

She would like for her children to continue studying and for herself to provide for her family. Lastly, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to owners of non-bankable businesses in light of the global crisis of COVID-19.

The photo is only of the leader of the group due to COVID-19, in keeping with social distancing measures.
