Beugueu Diam Group's story

The solidarity group BEUGUEU JAM was formed more than 8 years ago. It is composed of 8 women from the same village. They formed their group by neighborhood and kinship. The group is affiliated with the SANGHE DOUKA village bank. Mrs. Adama P., second on the right in the photo (seen in the medaillon), is the leader of the group. She is 52 years old, married and the mother of 5 children. She sells local grains (millet and corn) and also sells peanuts. She has operated this business for more than 10 years. With her loan she is going to increase her stock of merchandise so that she can better satisfy her customers and generate more profit. Her goal is to help her husband provide for the family’s financial needs.
