A loan helped to buy more oil to sell.

Minnie's story

Minnie is 43 years old; she lives with her husband along with three children. The ages of her children are 3 through 18 years old. All of her children are currently in school and live at home. Minnie is a high school graduate.

She sells oil in order to help her husband with their children's schooling and health as well. She learned how to sell from her mother and her husband gave her some funds to start the business. She likes her business because it gives her money each day she sells.

To excel in business, Minnie applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. The loan will be used to buy more oil to sell in order to repay her loan installment and increase her profits. In the future, she wants to build a house. She wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
