Malee's story

Malee is a married local woman living with her husband and children in a Kui community in Surin Province in Northeast Thailand. Basically, her family does a rice farm to make a living and raises buffaloes.

Her parents taught her how to raise buffaloes as a business. Her parents have been in the business for twenty years, which inspired her to follow their pathway. She needed to generate more income for the family and pay for the educational expenses of her children. Therefore, she looked for a loan to improve her business and then asked for a Kiva loan to buy buffaloes to raise and sell as well as she will spend the loan to expand the farm.

The loan really matters to her that it will enable her to purchase buffaloes and expand her farm. In the future, she has planned to expand the farm accordingly.
