A loan helped to buy agricultural supplies to protect his plants from mosquitos.

Julio Cristobal's story

This is Cristóbal, a 44-year-old man who is responsible for his three young children and his partner. He lives in the community of Pailón. Most of the people who live there are of Awá origin, as is the case of Cristóbal.

This humble man only received elementary schooling because his father took him out to work as a day laborer at a very young age, as is the custom in that area. This is how he acquired experience, over time, to start his own crops that are now the source of income for his home.

Cristóbal has noticed that due to climate change his plants are being affected by mosquitos that eat their leaves. For that reason he is seeking a loan to buy agricultural supplies that will allow him to care for his crop and keep it healthy in order to obtain better income from it.
